For schools

Built to Complement Schools.

Schools build the foundation. GBBMC helps professionals build what comes next.

Barber and beauty schools provide the essential foundation: technical education, safety knowledge, practical training, and the pathway toward licensure. GBBMC complements that work by helping students and graduates prepare for the realities of professional life behind the chair: building a portfolio, connecting with mentors, communicating with clients, developing confidence, understanding business expectations, and discovering professional opportunities.

GBBMC is not here to replace school. We help emerging professionals carry what they learned into the next stage of their career.

Mastery Sessions

Explore Mastery Sessions

Live technique demonstrations, recorded craft breakdowns, small-group Skill Labs, portfolio critiques, private mentorship, business coaching, shop team training, tool and product education, exam-study support sessions, and professional workshops. Your session progress follows you between this website and the app.

GBBMC Forum provides supplemental professional education, community experiences, mentorship, and professional-development resources. Participation does not issue a government license, state certification, state-approved education credit, official apprenticeship hours, examination eligibility, employment, or licensure.

Mastery Sessions are supplemental professional experiences. They do not issue a government license, establish an official apprenticeship, automatically create state-recognized training credit, or guarantee examination eligibility, examination results, employment, income, or licensure.

Learning time

Three separate kinds of time

GBBMC keeps these apart. They are never merged or added together.

1

GBBMC Supplemental Learning Time

Mastery Sessions, workshops, craft breakdowns, Forum participation, professional discussions, business education, portfolio reviews, virtual mentor sessions, practice quizzes, and professional resources.

GBBMC Supplemental Learning Time is for personal and professional development and does not automatically count as state-approved education or apprenticeship hours.

2

GBBMC Mentor Practice Time

Coaching, mannequin practice, technical demonstrations, portfolio feedback, mock practical preparation, skill feedback, and other developmental activities.

GBBMC Mentor Practice Time supports skill development and does not automatically count as state-creditable or official apprenticeship time.

3

State-Verified Apprenticeship Hours

Not available

GBBMC Forum provides apprenticeship-readiness information, professional education, mentor connections, and career support. GBBMC sessions do not automatically create official Registered Apprenticeship hours. Official apprenticeship training requires an approved program, eligible employer or sponsor, valid apprentice agreement, required supervision, related technical instruction, and compliance with applicable state requirements.

GBBMC Completion Record

Check a Completion Record

This record confirms that a member participated in or completed a Mastery Session through GBBMC Forum on a date. It represents supplemental professional learning and does not issue a government license, state certification, state-approved training credit, official apprenticeship hours, examination eligibility, employment, or licensure.

Mentors and Session Hosts

Host a Mastery Session

Experienced professionals can apply to become a GBBMC Verified Session Host from their Forum profile. Every session listing is reviewed by GBBMC before it is published.

A GBBMC Mentor provides professional guidance, education, and career support. Mentor status does not mean the person is a state-approved apprenticeship sponsor, state-approved instructor, or authorized to certify official apprenticeship hours unless GBBMC expressly identifies the person and activity as part of an approved program.

For schools

Partner With GBBMC

GBBMC supports schools by helping graduates prepare for what happens after education.

Schools build the technical foundation, safety knowledge, and licensing readiness students need. GBBMC provides a professional community where graduates can continue learning from the industry, build career confidence, connect with mentors, create professional profiles, discover opportunities, and transition into real-world barber and beauty careers.

We are not here to compete with schools. We are here to strengthen the bridge between education, opportunity, and professional life.

GBBMC partners with schools and welcomes graduates into a professional community built for the next stage of their journey.

        About GBBMC

Schools build the foundation. GBBMC helps professionals build what comes next.

GBBMC Forum, the Barber & Beauty Mastery Forum, is a professional community where barber and beauty professionals share knowledge, respect craftsmanship, and grow together.

Professionals teaching professionals. Craftsmanship respected. Community built.

GBBMC does not replace barber school, cosmetology school, state-required education, or Registered Apprenticeship programs. GBBMC supports the transition from education into professional life through community, mentorship, real-world insight, portfolio support, career readiness, professional opportunities, and continued growth.

GBBMC respects the work schools do. Schools provide the structured education, technical foundation, safety knowledge, practical experience, and licensing pathway students need. GBBMC’s role begins at the transition point, when students and graduates are preparing to enter professional life.

GBBMC is designed to become the pivotal next step for students approaching graduation, recent graduates, newly licensed professionals, emerging professionals, working barbers, beauty professionals, mentors, Master Barbers, shop owners, and industry contributors.

        Parents and guardians

        Young people and GBBMC Forum

GBBMC Forum is designed primarily for adults and emerging professionals. It is not directed to children under 13.

A child under 13 may take part only in a GBBMC-approved youth program, after GBBMC receives and verifies consent from the child’s parent or legal guardian. GBBMC never creates a child account automatically.

Members 13 through 17 may use the Forum only with any parent or guardian permission the law requires. Their location, portfolio and directory listing stay hidden, they cannot be recommended to other members, and verification badges and Opportunities Board listings are for members 18 and older.

Youth Accounts for children under 13

A child under 13 in a GBBMC-approved youth program gets a restricted Youth Account, never a standard Forum account. It is private, parent-controlled, closed to adult contact, and limited to the exact features you approve.

        1. You fill in the Parental Consent Form online, signed in with your own GBBMC account.
        2. GBBMC verifies you are the parent or legal guardian, by your signed form and ID (deleted right after), or a call with trained staff.
        3. GBBMC creates the Youth Account with the strictest settings and only the features you chose.
        4. You set your child’s passcode and run everything from your Parent Dashboard: approve what they share, change permissions, pause the account in one tap, download or delete their information, or close it.

To ask whether an approved youth program is available, or about a young person already on the Forum, contact GBBMC below.
